History
OCx was founded as an independent telecom solutions agency in 2001, during the early establishment of channel programs across the industry. Having worked for national carriers (LECs) and niche providers (CLECs), we quickly recognized need for customer advocacy overlay service and support, and vendor-agnostic independence. Our model emphasized the customer’s timelines over end of quarter quota fulfillment. The advantages of aligning with customers as an independent integrator were evident: Assisting clients trimming unnecessary technology spending freed up investment for mission-critical infrastructure projects. Driving better contract negotiations resulted in industry competitive pricing and contract alignment across multiple locations and vendors. In an industry renowned for questionable customer service, the customer's administrative and support burdens were substantially mitigated through our overlay support services. Since the early days of our founding, we’ve retained our telecom & connectivity focus.
In 2009 OCx acquired an outstanding network engineering firm, allowing us to evolve into a value added reseller (VAR) focusing on enterprise data networks and premises-based VoIP platforms. For 15 years, OCx was recognized as a top reseller, nationwide, for ShoreTel, Brocade, Fortinet, Ruckus and other equipment manufacturers. Our current emphases are cloud solutions and network engineering, to which we bring 20+ years of enterprise-grade experience, with a track record of customer advocacy and support.
